The first Purge Nation was established just over a year ago in West Point, Georgia. This original location specializes in axe throwing and serves as a place to relax and let off some steam.
The new Uptown Columbus location will share the goal that co-owners Tammy Stephens, Kani Estrada and Richard Jackson had for the original: to give people a place to relax and feel comfortable.
Stephens told reporters that she knew she wanted the Uptown Columbus location to include an outdoor space, which is why the former Uptown Tap proved to be a viable option.

Bringing a new sports bar in the former Uptown Tap location, the three know they have big shoes to fill. Their goal is to honor the history of Columbus and preserve the building, all while refurbishing the space to give it new life.
Though it will not have axe throwing like its West Point counterpart, Purge Nation will have a variety of games, including cornhole and pool. During brunch hours, the bar will be family-friendly and even offer games such as Connect Four and Jenga for kids.
During the evening, it will cater to a 21-and-up crowd. You can also expect live performances and a DJ booth to be situated in the courtyard, which will also serve as an event space.
The food served will be typical bar food like burgers, wings and loaded fries with a Purge Nation twist. During the brunch hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, there will be a different menu that features items like lamb chops, ribeye, salmon, catfish and grits.

This new sports bar in the former Uptown Tap location will soon be open at 1024 Broadway in Columbus, Georgia. Purge Nation plans to open at its new location in the next few weeks.
