Things to Do: Visit the Coca-Cola Space Science Center

Visit the Coca-Cola Space Science Center

No need to wish upon a star. The Columbus State University Coca-Cola Space Science Center has re-opened and ready to light up your imagination with space-tastic adventures!

Time to Space Out

When you plan your visit to the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, there are some things you need to know ahead of time. The center implemented several changes to ensure public health and safety is a priority. To limit the number of guests and easily host small groups, they launched a whole new experience—The Cosmic Odyssey.

The Cosmic Odyssey allows visitors the chance to explore the wonders of space with a live night-sky tour and planetarium show in the Omnisphere Theater, a guided tour of NASA artifacts, a spaceflight adventure, and time to discover exhibits and the Stargazers Gift Shop on your own.

To review all the proper procedures, including mask requirements (must be worn at all times), and other safety information, visit the Coca-Cola Space Science Center website before you go.

Book Your Mission

It is strongly recommended that you book your mission in advance. The Cosmic Odyssey blasts off up to 13 times a week Monday through Friday at noon and 2 p.m. On Saturday, there is a special mission for the youngest astronauts in training with takeoff at 11 a.m. This space adventure includes a child-friendly show in the Omnisphere Theater. Older kids will enjoy the 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. missions.

The reservations show up to four weeks of availability so you can visit the Coca-Cola Space Science Center at a time that is best for your family. You must provide an email address to make a purchase, and pricing options appear upon the selection of a date and time. Prepare to launch by booking your Cosmic Odyssey mission now. It’s good to note that timing is everything in space travel, so keep in mind that check in is exactly 10 minutes before your scheduled launch.

Location

The Coca-Cola Space Science Center is located at 701 Front Ave., Columbus, Georgia. Parking is available at no cost in front of the building and along Front Avenue past the center. It is also located next to a public parking deck that is typically free of charge unless there is a special event in the area.
